The Bricksy Trail launch event flyer

Summary

Bricksy is Level Up Gosport's LEGO project; workshop sessions where young people build mosaics together, which later grew into The Bricksy Trail around Gosport.

I designed the identity for it; the chunky BRICKSY wordmark and the smiling LEGO-head figure; and this flyer for the trail's launch event, built in Canva around that branding. The same artwork went onto the printed banner used at the workshop sessions, and the logo is credited on the trail's official site.

The flyer does a lot in one page: brick-shaped colour bands split the information into scannable chunks, the LEGO-head keeps it instantly readable as "LEGO" without using LEGO's own branding, and it still fits the partner logos; Heritage Fund, Hampshire Cultural Trust, Gosport Borough Council, and the charity's King's Award for Voluntary Service; without drowning the event details.

Main Points

  • Wordmark: Heavy rounded letters that read from a distance.
  • Figure: A friendly LEGO-head character at the centre of the brand.
  • Layout: Brick-shaped colour bands chunk the info so it scans at a glance.
  • Partners: Four funder/partner logos fitted in without clutter.
  • Reused: The same branding became The Bricksy Trail logo and banner.
Most importantly – to the young people of Level Up Gosport, especially Lewis Whitham who designed the Bricksy Trail logo – whose creativity and enthusiasm have inspired this work. The Bricksy Trail, acknowledgements
